A Dallas Engagement!
When Ryan reached out about booking an engagement session for him and his fiancée, Aubrey, I couldn’t have been more excited. Ryan and I actually went to high school together, and it means so much when old friends trust me to capture their biggest life moments. Even though I don’t typically offer sessions in Dallas, I made an exception for these two because their story was too good not to celebrate.
Ryan proposed to Aubrey at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science in Dallas, which was such a unique and meaningful spot for them. To carry that same energy into their engagement session, they chose the Bishop Arts District—a colorful, lively area filled with murals, textures, and character around every corner. It was the perfect reflection of their personalities: vibrant, fun, and full of life.
Engagement Photos in Bishop Arts
The Bishop Arts District is one of Dallas’ most charming areas, with its colorful murals, cobblestone streets, and hidden gems perfect for photography. It gave us so many options for backdrops that reflected Ryan and Aubrey’s joy and connection. From bold pops of color to quieter, tucked-away corners, we made the most of every spot.
Even though the weather wasn’t perfect—hot July sun at 3:30 pm—we worked around it. We found shaded areas with soft light, which not only kept them comfortable but also allowed their personalities to shine without the distraction of harsh lighting. This is something I always emphasize: even when conditions aren’t ideal, there’s always a way to capture beautiful, natural photos.
The Photography Details
For this session, I shot with my 30mm lens, which is one of my favorite choices for capturing both intimacy and environment. It allowed me to highlight Ryan and Aubrey’s love while also showcasing the vibrant character of the Bishop Arts District.
Their full gallery was delivered in just two weeks—because I know how eager couples are to relive the joy of their engagement session. My goal is not only to create beautiful photos but also to make the process seamless, fun, and stress-free from start to finish.
Why I Loved This Session
This engagement session was so much more than a set of photos. It was about celebrating Ryan and Aubrey’s story—from a thoughtful proposal at the Perot Museum in Dallas to a colorful afternoon exploring Bishop Arts. Their love and laughter made every moment easy to capture, and I’m so grateful they trusted me with this chapter of their journey.
